GYPSHA is a World Music Electronic Ambient Duo formed by two multi-instrumentalists, Rucha  Amatayakul (Jeep) and Nixsa Saenjaibal (Meen), from “Sommati Studio,” a home studio based in Bangkok. The name GYPSHA emerged from their casual gatherings, where tea and music were shared among friends and visitors in a warm and welcoming atmosphere. In Thai, the name is pronounced “Jib-Cha,” giving it a contemporary character that reflects the duo’s musical style.

Both members share a deep fascination with music from different cultures around the world and with the journey of sound across borders. Their music draws primarily from World Music traditions, blending them with the Electronic music language in which they are both experienced. One of GYPSHA’s defining characteristics is their exploration of traditional and folk instruments from various cultures, reinterpreting their sounds through experimentation and combining them with contemporary electronic textures.

GYPSHA has performed at a number of music festivals, including BEAT FOREST, GAIA BEATS, PAI WORLD RHYTHM, and many other music events. Their performances take the form of a hybrid live show, seamlessly combining electronic instruments and sound production with live music. With a flexible and open-ended approach, the duo adapts each performance to the atmosphere and character of the event, creating a musical experience that feels immersive, relaxed, and constantly evolving.

At the heart of GYPSHA’s work is “a passion for music from different cultures around the world and the journey of sound.” Through their borderless approach to music, they aim to create an aesthetic and laid-back listening experience while connecting audiences with the spirit of music beyond cultural boundaries. GYPSHA is currently preparing to release their first single in the near future.
