Chen Xiangwen is a Chinese Guzheng performer, educator, and a current Ph.D. Candidate in Musicology at the Kirk University. She pursued her Master's degree in Music Performance - Guzheng at the Yangzhou University School of Music (under the guidance of the renowned Guzheng educator, Professor Wang Xiaoping) and a Master's degree in Education from the City University of Malaysia. She has rich achievements in both theory and practice. Since 2015, she has been serving as a Guzheng teacher at the Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center and Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand.

 

Over the years, Chen Xiangwen has been dedicated to promoting Chinese music to the world. As of May 2023, she has recorded and uploaded over fifty personal Guzheng performance videos to YouTube and international music websites.

 

From 2009 to 2014, Chen Xiangwen independently planned, wrote scripts, hosted, and performed on the Guzheng for nearly two hundred episodes of a Guzheng and Chinese culture series program in collaboration with Thailand Chinese Television. This series became very popular among the Thai audience and the Chinese community in Thailand.

 

In 2017, Chen Xiangwen was honored with the Gold Award at the ""4th International Guzheng Competition"" held in Japan.

 

Since 2015, Chen Xiangwen has conducted nearly a hundred Guzheng experience classes for elementary, middle, and high school students at the Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center. Additionally, she has served as the instructor for the elective Guzheng course for students majoring in Western music at Srinakharinwirot University in Thailand, where she imparts the traditional Chinese Guzheng playing techniques to Thai students.

 

Indeed, the Bangkok Chinese Cultural Center not only provided Chen Xiangwen with opportunities to start her teaching career but also offered her several significant performance opportunities. These included performances at events such as the 2022 National Day reception hosted by the Chinese Embassy, the foreign diplomats reception organized by the Chinese Ministry of Industry and Information Technology in Bangkok, and the 5th-anniversary celebration of the establishment of the Chinese Tourism Office in Bangkok. Additionally, she has held two Guzheng concerts at the School of Music, Srinakharinwirot University, in Thailand.
