PROGRAM NOTE

It was in 2014, that the first performance of PGVIS started with the Korphai ensemble. We heard Sathukarn, a homage to the holy spirit, reverberate through the wooden walls in the SVH hall. Since then, those walls have heard a wide range of sounds, and they also became quiet when the concert practice was suspended due to COVID. Today, we will reawaken the memory of our first songs, along with the honored guest performers who have served and shared so many musical memories with HRH Highness Princess Galyani Vahdhana, such as Jamorn Supapol, Siripong Tiptan, Apichai Leamthong, and Tasana Nagavajara, performing the composition “Threnody” to the Victims of the 2020 Pandemic for Viola Solo by National Artist, Professor Dr. Narongrit Dhamabutra. Also with works from Silpathorn Artists , “Malai” by Dr. Vanich Potavanich and “Khruan Fang Khong Rhapsody” by Kaiwan Kulavadhanothai.

Before we leave for the second half of our 10-hour celebration concerts, we will hear Bernard Lanskey, co-founder of PGVIS since 2014, share his thoughts and recollections through the performance of Sea-Change by Andrew Schultz.
