Xiaokai Guo is a PhD student in Performing Arts at City University Malaysia. Guo completed undergraduate studies at Beijing Normal University, China, followed by master’s studies at Northeast Normal University, China. Current research focuses on organised terrace chanting, football supporter culture, and public musical performance, with particular attention to The Dalian North Union in Chinese professional football. Recent work uses field video/audio recordings, event-aligned analysis, and descriptive coding to examine how collective chanting is cued, sustained, interrupted, and reorganised in live match contexts.
