Warit Techakanont

Warit Techakanont is a Junior, studying jazz piano at Rangsit University.

 

He has been learning piano from the age of four at Yamaha Music Foundation.

 

He obtained ABRSM, Grade 2, 5 and 8, Piano, with Distinction, and was awarded Trinity Awards Thailand 2013 (second highest score) in Grade 5 and highest score in grade LTCL.

 

For music competitions, he has participated in several programs, both domestic and international levels. He won the First Prize in Thailand 3rd Chopin International Piano Competition 2016 (age group 18-24), the First Prize in Piano competition in Yamaha Thailand Music Festival 2016 (age group 16-20), and Special Honour Prize in Yokohama International Music Competition in 2015. Regarding ensemble competition, he was awarded the Third Prize of Category C: Duet for Piano and one String, in Princess Galyani Vadhana International Ensemble Competition 2017.

 

Warit is also interested in music composition. His original compositions had been selected to perform in Yamaha Thailand Junior Original Concert every year from 2013 to 2017. One of his compositions was selected as Thailand’s representative and published in the Japan Yamaha Music Foundation website.

 

For Jazz piano, he studied with Nu Vudthivichai for more than 9 years. He was one of the finalists in Thailand International Jazz Competition (Solo completion) in 2018 and 2019. He has been performing in several jazz bars and hotels such as Jazz Happens, FooJohn Jazz Club, Crimson Room, Westin Grand Hotel, Anantara Riverside and Centara Hotel.

 

Warit has released several albums / EPs / Single on Spotify, Apple Music, and Youtube which contains his original compositions and improvisations in several genres such as Jazz, Avant-Garde, Experimental, Electronics, Classical, Relaxing Music.
