Prach Boondiskulchok

Prach Boondiskulchok

Prach’s compositional language explores the layers and contradictions of the sound worlds he encounters through his multiple musical milieus: a Bangkok-born musician grown up with both Western and Thai classical traditions, an multi-award winning performer based in Europe, and a researcher entangled in the boundaries between historical performance practices and contemporary music. While embracing influences as diverse as Buddhist chanting, Josquin des Prez, Piphat traditions, Ravel, Partch and Grisey, Prach’s scores prioritise intelligibility and immediacy. In 2025 he is a resident composer for the AskoSchönberg Ensemble’s Graspuntprogramme (Amsterdam), and developing projects include operas “Harvest” commissioned by the Dutch National Opera for 2026, and “Burmese Days” commissioned by Opera La Monnaie (Brussels) for 2027.
