Jacques Moreau

Jacques Moreau

Currently retired, Jacques Moreau was Director of Cefedem Auvergne Rhône-Alpes in Lyon, a higher music education institution dedicated to training instrumental and vocal teachers in all musical genres. Before, he was Head of the Music Department at the Conservatoire National Supérieur Musique et Danse de Lyon. Previously, after graduating from Paris Conservatoire as a pianist, he drove together artistic activities, and teaching and managing positions in pre-college music institutions.


He graduated with a Master's degree in Administration of Research and Knowledge Transfer Institutions (ADMIRE) delivered by the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (2014). His master's thesis was on "The place of research in a first cycle of higher music education."


He currently holds three different positions: 


  • Chair of the Board of MusiQuE. Since 2021, he has been very active in the Association of European Conservatoires, collaborating in numerous European projects and with members of the AEC Council.


  • Member of the Methodological Support Council of the Agency for the Evaluation of the Quality of Higher Education (AEQES) of the Walloon-Brussels Federation (Belgium).


  • Member of the Council of the International Music Council, a NGO associated to UNESCO, based in Paris,


He first began working with the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music in Bangkok in 2007, and since 2010 has played an active advising role.
