Dr. Boon Hua Lien

Lien Boon Hua is a conductor celebrated for his artistic versatility and emotional depth across an expansive range of repertoire. He is Associate Conductor of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and Conductor of the Singapore National Youth Chinese Orchestra, championing Asian music internationally. Acclaimed as one of Asia's foremost interpreters of contemporary music, he led the Singapore Symphony Orchestra in Esplanade’s 20th anniversary concert in 2022. As founding Artistic Director of Wayfarer Sinfonietta, he has led renowned orchestras including the Singapore Symphony Orchestra, Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra, Sichuan Symphony Orchestra, and regularly conducts opera productions across Asia. He studied with distinguished maestros like the late Bernard Haitink and Peter Eötvös. Dedicated to education, Lien is on the faculty of the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music and is Visiting Lecturer at Thailand’s Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music. He holds a doctorate from the Eastman School of Music.
