"CRISSCROSS for Piano" is a music composition that blends music, community, and creativity. It integrates weaving-inspired rhythms into a solo piano performance, incorporating live or recorded sounds from the community to create a rich soundscape. The title "CRISSCROSS" embodies the concept of interweaving or crossing paths, much like the act of weaving itself, where threads intertwine to create a fabric. In the context of the composition, "CRISSCROSS" serves as a metaphor for the interconnectedness of life, nature, and creativity. These elements, though distinct, are inseparable and cross over one another in meaningful ways, influencing and shaping each other in a continuous cycle.

This solo piano performance integrates weaving-inspired rhythms and gestures, reflecting the community's identity through sound. The piece features complex rhythms derived from the motions of weaving—such as pulling, striking, and stepping—using both hands to mirror traditional loom work. The composition challenges convention by blending technology with tradition, introducing a new form of artistic expression that emerges from the synthesis of life and nature. Through performances, it encourages community engagement and, when heard or seen, evokes a sense of nostalgia, connecting individuals to both the past and the present in a deeply emotional way.
