In a ‘pressure cooking’ workshop on the previous day, the possibilities of embedding creativity into traditional expectations were explored, not just by experimenting and doing, but also by reflecting on and examining the process and hereby developing a multi-applicable creative-performative methodology. To this end, a piece of art of another discipline served as an inspiration as well as material to complement the musical repertoire that was selected by the students during the process. By investigating the interactive and various communicative actions and their effects on the social as well as artistic dimension, another light is shed on the role of the (musical) performer as a creative and flexible identity who interprets and cultivates the existing material in function of a specific context, while respecting and practicing conventional values and quality. The followed trajectory entails a succession of non-linearily defined phases, culminating in the sharing of the performance and the experience in the here and now.
