The intense physical and psychological demands of a musical career require a specialized approach to health and well-being, an area that has been critically underdeveloped in Thailand. To address this, the Princess Galyani Vadhana Institute of Music (PGVIM) initiated the "Wellness for Musician" project, designed to create a set of knowledge of care and raise awareness across in the music community in Thailand. The project's primary mission is to provide musicians with the essential tools to build healthy, resilient, and sustainable careers.

This presentation will share our holistic methodology. By integrating key principles from movement science, targeted physical conditioning, and mental health practices, we have developed a comprehensive support system for the modern musician. The project was implemented through a series of workshops from January to April 2025, which included "Mindfulness & Stress Management," "Resilience Building," and instrument-specific clinics on "Physical Care and Exercise." The positive reception from participants underscored the profound need for this integrated approach to training.

The project's core teachings have since been formalized into the “Strengthening Physical Fitness for Musicians” course as part of the Bachelor of Music program’s wellness module, and have also been recorded as a VDO series. This accessible and permanent resource institutionalizes a culture of wellness at PGVIM and serves as a model for the broader Thai music community. Ultimately, this initiative is a foundational step in fostering a more supportive artistic ecosystem—one where musicians are holistically equipped not only to achieve excellence but also to thrive throughout their professional lives.
