Born and bred as a Thai-Chinese, Kornphanat earned her PhD in Chinese Studies from the National University of Singapore in 2012. She currently teaches history and general education classes at Thammasat University. She is a prolific author with numerous journal articles published in Thai, Chinese, and English. She has authored Thai textbooks on Chinese history for general readers. Her recent research centers on Asian sound cultures and Chinese cinemas, with a focus on postwar Bangkok. Her interests encompass manga, anime, music and fanfiction.
