In 2045, the world as we know it today will look very different. While we cannot accurately predict what lies ahead, we can help shape it. 

What about musicking in 2045 ?

Considering the place of music in society and in connection with the definition of Christopher Small’s musicking,* the Art School Futures Lab will attempt to draw a map of music in society in 2045, speculating on the major trends to come in the next 20 years, and will embrace the immense potential of creativity and imaginative thinking fostered in art schools. 

Join us in this futures thinking lab as we delve into future thinking and speculative imaginings for higher music education, and immerse ourselves in the possibilities of tomorrow. Our aim is to highlight the dissimilarities between the present realities of higher music education and the potential consequences for the future. The question of what higher music education institutions will need for longer-term successful planning and decision-making is central.

This Art School Futures Lab is part of Erasmus+ Knowledge Alliance Project FAST45 (Future Art School Trends 2045) in which Cefedem Auvergne Rhône Alpes is involved. The lab will be hosted by PGVIS and facilitated by Sandrine Desmurs from Cefedem Aura.
